Today was our first day of filming. When I woke up this morning I automatically dread the thought of filming today. All I was thinking of is everything that could go wrong. I was most worried about it raining and not being able to use the track. Somehow my nervousness slowed turned into excitement I wanted the best video possible. Around the room you could feel everyone's energy before they went out and filmed.Walking out onto the track I saw that it was dry and empty. I felt a sigh of relief leave my body as soon as I saw that. The first problem of the morning hit us soon after that. We got on the track and we forgot to grab the headphones we needed for the first scene. I had to run back to the room and grab them. In my head I was praying that was the only problem we faced today.
Unfortunately weren’t so lucky that day. I got back to the track and we started setting up all the props that we would need for the commercial. We had some trouble getting the tripod open. After 15 minutes of fighting (not literally) we finally got it opened. However by the time we got it opened the whole gym class walked onto the track. I automatically wanted to give up right then and there. We saw the way to get our this is to film the opening scene of where he just enter. We figured by the time we finished the first take they would be gone. Once again we were wrong. They stayed there until almost the end of class. We have to wait until the class was on the opposite side of the track to film the scene where he is warming. Even with this plan they would throw balls so we had to do multiple takes of that one scene. It was hot so I was irradiated and when people kept walking into our shot I felt like I was going to explode
After what felt like forever we were done to our last two scenes we were getting prepared and then ROTC comes out and starts doing workouts right in the area where we were suppose to film. We decided to move onto the other side of the track once again. The problem with this side of the track was the trees were blocking the sun. Therefore, our lighting kept going in and out depending on the position of the sun. Finally we had everything we needed to film the last two scenes. I was in charge of filming the scene where was running. The first take I wasn’t sure that the camera was recording. So we had to so that scene two more times just to make sure we got it. I could tell the actor was getting tired so I felt bad for not getting it right the first time. Finally we got the last scene of the close up and left. The bell had already rung and we didn't even dump our footage onto the camera yet. When we got back to the room I had to stay after to get it dumped. However, like the whole morning the computers were being difficult and didn't want to load. After asking Ms. Cats for help I got everything onto the computer and could finally be done with the whole. I don’t think my first of filming could have gotten any worse, but I got through it.
